One of the hardest things about having food allergies is missing out on all the regular things most people take for granted.  Such as a nice cold beer at the end of a hot day.  But Anheuser-Busch has created a treat for those who can't eat wheat.  It is a beer made of Sorghum - a grain that is safe for those who suffer from wheat allergies.  They have named this bubbly beverage Redbridge.

Anheuser-Busch worked closely with the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) during the development of this beer.  People who suffer from Celiac Disease are unable to eat gluten because it will damage their intestines.   Both rye, wheat and barley contain gluten.  This conglomeration has enabled Anheuser-Busch to produce a gluten-free beer that can be enjoyed by those adults who follow a wheat or gluten-free diet.

Sorghum is a grain that is safe for those who cannot ingest gluten or wheat.  This grain is grown not only in the United States, but in Southern Europe, Central America, Southern Asia and Africa.  This beer is described as a "hearty, full bodied lager" with a moderately hopped taste.  It contains 4.8 percent alcohol per 12 ounces.

So, if you are on a wheat-free or gluten-free diet, make a toast to Redbridge, Anheuser-Busch's sorghum beer.
